Tips for travelling with family
Plan around school holidays, but book early. April to June and the Dasara and Sankranti breaks are peak times, and good rooms go first. Choose a private car if you have small children or elders, since you can stop when needed. For hill stations, pack sweaters even in summer, as evenings get cool. Carry a small first-aid kit, travel sickness tablets for winding ghat roads, and snacks for the children.
At theme parks, children's rides often have height limits, so check before you promise a ride. Keep a recent photo of each child on your phone in case you get separated in a crowd.
