Ramoji Film City is a large film studio complex near Hayathnagar, on the edge of Hyderabad. It opened in 1996 and covers about 2000 acres. Guinness World Records lists it as the world's largest film studio complex.
Besides film shooting, it is a popular place for a family day out. More than 1.5 million people visit every year.
The studio was the dream of Ramoji Rao, a Telugu film producer. He wanted to build something like Universal Studios in Hollywood. The work took years. Today visitors find film sets, theme areas, gardens, rides, children's play zones and holiday carnivals.
Planning a school or college trip to Ramoji Film City?
A normal entry ticket, for families or friends visiting on their own, costs Rs.1400 per student. Lunch is not included.
For school and college trips, Ramoji Film City offers special packages at special prices. These cover students along with their teachers, staff and faculty.
