Karthika Masam Special Tour Packages are one-day temple trips from Hyderabad for the holiest month of the Telugu calendar. Karthika Masam is devoted to Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. Devotees light lamps at dusk, fast on Mondays, bathe in rivers before sunrise and visit as many temples as they can. In 2026 the month runs from about 10 November to 8 December in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. For this season, GoldBox Holidays offers four special bus tours from Hyderabad. Each route links several temples on one road, so devotees can visit many holy places in a single day and return home the same night.

All four routes are day trips by bus that start and end in Hyderabad.

Places you will visit

Beechupally has an Anjaneya Swamy temple on the bank of the Krishna. The Alampur Jogulamba Temple is one of the Shakti Peethas and stands beside the old Nava Brahma temples on the Tungabhadra. The Lalitha Someswara temple at Somasila and the Lakshmi Narasimha temple at Singotam lie near the Krishna backwaters. The Vemulawada Temple honours Sri Raja Rajeswara Swamy, and the Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy Temple sits on a hill. The Dharmapuri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple is on the Godavari. The Kaleshwaram Temple has two lingas on one base, where the Godavari meets the Pranahita. The Ramappa Temple is a 13th-century Kakatiya temple and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2021. The last route also stops at the rebuilt Yadagirigutta Temple and the hill shrine of Sri Ramalingeswara at Keesaragutta.

Best time to go

These tours are planned for Karthika Masam itself. Karthika Mondays, Karthika Pournami and the Ekadasi days are the busiest. November mornings are cool, so carry a shawl for the early start. For shorter queues, travel on a weekday other than Monday. The rest of the year, the same temples are quieter and can be visited through our regular packages.

How to choose the right package

Choose by the deity you wish to worship and by how long a day you can manage. The Beechupally and Alampur route follows the Hyderabad-Kurnool highway and is the gentlest for elders. The Kaleshwaram route covers the most ground and suits younger devotees. If you plan a holy dip, carry a change of clothes and bathe only at safe, guarded ghats. For a Jyotirlinga visit in the same month, see our Srisailam Mallikarjuna Tour Packages. For Warangal's temples at a slower pace, look at our Warangal Tour Packages.
