Our Tirupati-Tirumala Tour Packages take you to the Sri Venkateswara temple on the Tirumala hills, one of the most visited Hindu shrines in India. Tirupati town sits at the foot of the hills and is the base for every trip up to Tirumala. Many devotees also want darshan at the Padmavathi temple in Tiruchanur, the Vinayaka temple at Kanipakam and the Shiva temple at Srikalahasti. GoldBox Holidays currently has seven packages in this category, and all of them start from Hyderabad or Bangalore. Most are bus trips of one or two days. There is also a caravan trip and a four-day train tour from Hyderabad.

Places you will visit
The main goal is darshan of Lord Venkateswara at the Tirupati Balaji Temple on Tirumala. Down in the plains, Tiruchanur has the Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple, the shrine of the Lord's consort. The two-day tours also stop at Kanipakam Temple, where Vinayaka is worshipped as a self-formed idol in a well, and at Srikalahasti Temple, a Shiva shrine known for Rahu-Ketu pujas. Some devotees choose to climb the hill on foot by the Alipiri or Srivari Mettu steps.
Best time to go
The weather is kindest from September to February. Tirumala has crowds all year, and the queues grow longest in the summer holidays, on weekends, during the Brahmotsavam and on Vaikunta Ekadasi. A weekday outside the festival calendar usually means a shorter wait.
How to choose the right package
Start with your home city. Bangalore is close enough for a single-day bus trip. Hyderabad is roughly 550 km away, so tours from there travel overnight. Pick the train tour if you are travelling with parents or grandparents. Choose a two-day bus tour if you want Kanipakam and Srikalahasti as well. Packages marked "Dharma (Free) Darshan" use the free queue, where the waiting time is never fixed. For more temple trips in this region, see our Tirupati-Tirumala Temple Tours & Pilgrim Packages.
Frequently asked questions
Is darshan guaranteed on these tours?
No tour operator can promise it. TTD manages all darshan slots and queues, and its rules change from time to time. Read each package page for what the tour arranges.
What is the free (Dharma) darshan?
It is the general queue at Tirumala that has no ticket fee. Waiting time depends on the crowd, so it can be short on a quiet weekday and very long on a festival day.
What should I carry for Tirumala?
Keep an original photo ID such as Aadhaar with you. Wear traditional clothes, because TTD follows a dress code for darshan.
