Kashmir Tour Packages cover the green Kashmir valley of the Jhelum river in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. High Himalayan ranges ring the valley, and its floor is full of lakes, gardens, orchards and old wooden towns. Srinagar, the summer capital, is known for Dal Lake and its houseboats. Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg are mountain resorts a few hours away by road. Families, honeymoon couples and snow lovers all come here. GoldBox Holidays has no Kashmir package online yet, and new trips will be listed on this page soon. Until then, use this page as a quick guide to planning.

Places you will visit

  • Srinagar - a shikara ride on Dal Lake, a night on a houseboat, and Mughal gardens such as Nishat Bagh and Shalimar Bagh.
  • Tulip Garden, Srinagar - a very large tulip garden below the Zabarwan hills, open for only a few weeks in spring.
  • Gulmarg - a meadow town known for the Gulmarg Gondola cable car and for skiing in winter.
  • Pahalgam - a valley on the Lidder river, with pony rides and nearby spots like Betaab Valley and Aru.
  • Sonamarg - the "meadow of gold", a base for walks toward the Thajiwas glacier.

Best time to go

April to June is the most popular time. Days are mild, the gardens bloom and the mountain roads are open. The tulip season usually runs from late March into April. September and October bring clear skies and golden chinar leaves. December to February is the snow season, and Gulmarg is at its best for skiing, but roads can close after heavy snowfall. July and August are also fine, though the Amarnath Yatra makes Pahalgam and Sonamarg busy.

How to choose the right package

Most travellers from South India fly to Srinagar, as the road trip is very long. Since June 2025, a Vande Bharat train also runs from Katra to Srinagar over the Chenab bridge], which suits pilgrims who first visit Vaishno Devi. Plan at least 5 nights to see Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam without rushing, and add a night or two for Sonamarg. Families with elders should pick a trip with a private cab, since hill drives take time. Honeymoon couples often add a houseboat night. Pack warm layers in every season. Always read the latest government travel advisory before you book.
