This Bangalore to Mysore and Ooty tour by car is a 2-day, 1-night private cab trip that starts and ends in Bangalore. It suits couples, small families and groups of friends who have only a weekend but still want to see the palace city and the Nilgiri hills in their own vehicle.

Route and travel

Day 1 takes you from Bangalore to Mysore, about 145 km, or roughly 3 hours by road. Sightseeing in Srirangapatna and Mysore fills the day, and the night is spent in Mysore. On day 2 the car climbs from Mysore to Ooty through the Bandipur and Mudumalai forests, a distance of about 125 km. After Ooty sightseeing, the cab drives you straight back to Bangalore, and the operator's plan shows drop-off around midnight.

Tips for this trip

Share your exact pickup address when you book. The itinerary mentions pickup near Majestic as well as from homes or hotels.
Keep a sweater or light jacket in the car for day 2, because Ooty is much cooler than Bangalore and Mysore.
The forest roads through Bandipur and Mudumalai are closed to traffic at night, roughly 9 PM to 6 AM, so the return time from Ooty cannot be stretched much.
Pack snacks for the long drive back. The Nilgiris restrict single-use plastic bottles, so a steel bottle is the safer choice.
Leave your footwear in the car or at the stand before temple visits at Srirangapatna and Chamundi Hills.
