One Day Mysore Sightseeing by Car is a private car tour that starts in Mysore and covers the city and nearby Srirangapatna in one day. It suits families, couples and senior travellers who arrive in Mysore by train or bus and want to see the main sights at their own pace.

Route and travel

The car picks you up at your home, hotel, airport, railway station or bus stop in Mysore. Morning sights are in the city and on Chamundi Hill, about 13 km from the centre. After lunch and the palace, the car drives north to Srirangapatna, around 15 km away. The day ends at KRS Dam and Brindavan Gardens, after which you are dropped back where you started.

Places covered

Tips for this trip

  • The zoo is closed on Tuesdays. On that day the driver will skip it.
  • Photos are not allowed inside Mysore Palace, only in the grounds.
  • On Sundays and public holidays the palace lights up in the evening. Ask the driver if you can stop by.
  • Chamundi Hill is very crowded on Fridays and festival days, so leave extra time for the temple.
  • Carry sunscreen. KRS and Brindavan involve a lot of walking in the open.
