Day trips from the capital
Delhi is a good base for short trips. In one day you can see the main city sights, or travel south to Agra and the temple towns of Mathura and Vrindavan. Our Delhi packages are simple day tours with pick-up and drop in the city. They suit first-time visitors, families with elders and people with only a day or two in Delhi.
What these tours cover
Delhi city: a typical day covers India Gate, the Red Fort area, Raj Ghat, Qutub Minar, the Lotus Temple and Birla Mandir. Stops can change with closures and traffic.
Agra: the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The expressway makes a same-day trip possible.
Mathura and Vrindavan: Krishna Janmabhoomi in Mathura and the Banke Bihari and ISKCON temples in Vrindavan.

Planning tips
The Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays, so do not plan an Agra trip for that day. Many Delhi monuments are also shut on one weekday. Temples in Vrindavan close for a few hours in the afternoon, so tours visit them in the morning or evening.
October to March is the best season. From May to June Delhi can be above 40 degrees, and December and January mornings may be foggy, which can slow the Agra road. Agra days start very early, often before 7 AM. Carry ID, water, a cap and comfortable shoes. Large bags, food and some electronic items are not allowed inside the Taj Mahal .
Frequently asked questions
Are monument tickets included?
This depends on the tour. Each package page lists inclusions along with the current fare.
Bus or car - which should I pick?
The bus costs less and suits solo travellers. A private car is better for families and elders who want to set their own pace.
Can I see Delhi and Agra on the same day?
No, that is too much for one day. Plan one day for Delhi and another for Agra.
