A journey into the land of Cinema

The Studio Tour is the main day ticket at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. It takes you through film sets built to look like streets, palaces, stations and airports, along with live shows, gardens and rides. The film city spreads over about 2,000 acres and is listed by Guinness World Records as the largest film studio complex in the world. This guide covers the best-known sets, the shows, the ticket price and how to plan the day.

How the Studio Tour works

After entry at the main gate, a bus takes you to the Eureka area, the hub for food, rides and shows. From there, vintage-style buses carry visitors around the studio on a guided route, with stops at key sets. A guide explains how each set is used in films and TV serials. You can explore the gardens and shows at your own pace between bus rides.

Famous sets on the tour

North Town

This set copies the look of a North Indian town, with coloured house fronts, lanes and shop signs. It is often used for Hindi and Punjabi scenes. If a shoot is on, visitors may watch from a distance.

Princess Street

Princess Street is built to look like a European city street, with tall mansions and old-style shop fronts. It is one of the most photographed spots in the film city.

Bhagavatam set

Built for a mythological TV serial on the Bhagavatam, this ancient courtyard set has been preserved for visitors. Many people who watched the serial on ETV recognise it straight away.

Hawa Mahal

A white palace-style building in the gardens, with sculpted elephants at the entrance and lamp-lined paths. It is a popular backdrop for family photos and weddings.

Railway station set

A full platform with a station building, used for arrival and farewell scenes in many Telugu and Hindi films. Visitors like to recreate famous train scenes here.

Central Jail set

High walls, a heavy gate and cell blocks make this set look like a real prison. It is used whenever a film needs jail scenes.

Airport set

This set recreates an airport entrance and terminal, with aircraft and a helicopter as props. You can sit inside a plane for photos.

Baahubali set

The preserved Mahishmati palace from the Baahubali films. Read our Baahubali set guide for details.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the Ramoji Studio Tour take?

Plan a full day, about 7 to 8 hours, to cover the sets, shows and gardens without rushing.

Can we watch a live film shoot?

Sometimes. Shoots happen often, but visitors can only watch from a distance and only if the crew allows it.

What is the difference between Studio Tour and Star Experience?

Star Experience adds an AC coach, buffet lunch and express entry at some shows. The sets covered are largely the same.

Is the Studio Tour suitable for elders?

Yes, because buses cover the long distances. Some sets have steps, so elders should rest between stops.
