Enjoy the special treat with your family
Ramoji Film City is one of the few places near Hyderabad where every age group finds something to do. Small children have play zones and puppet shows, teenagers get rides and adventure sports, and parents and grandparents can enjoy the film sets, gardens and evening shows. This guide helps you plan a family day, choose a ticket, and decide whether to stay the night.
Family ticket options
Ramoji does not sell a single "family ticket". You buy a ticket for each adult and each child, then add lunch, transport or a hotel as you need. The main choices are:
| Ticket | Adult | Child (33 to 54 inches) | Includes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Studio Tour (weekday) | Rs. 1,550 | Rs. 1,350 | Tour, shows, rides, Bahubali set |
| Studio Tour (weekend) | Rs. 1,650 | Rs. 1,450 | Same as above |
| Studio Tour with lunch (weekday) | Rs. 1,850 | Rs. 1,650 | Above plus veg buffet |
| Star Experience (weekday) | Rs. 3,099 | Rs. 2,899 | AC bus, express entry, buffet, tea |
Prices as seen in September 2026. Children below 33 inches enter free. Children above 54 inches pay the adult price.
For most families, the Studio Tour with lunch is the easiest pick. If you travel with elders or in hot months, the Star Experience AC bus and shorter queues are worth the extra cost. See our Ramoji child ticket guide for the height rules.
A family day plan
Morning: opening show and Movie Magic
Reach the film city by 9:30 AM. The day starts with a short dance show at the entrance plaza. Then head to Movie Magic, where shows explain how films are made, from acting and dubbing to editing and special effects. The Action Theatre and Space Yatra are family favourites.
Late morning: the studio tour
The guided bus tour takes you through the film sets: streets, palaces, temples, the airport and railway station sets. The Studio Tour uses a non-AC vintage bus. Star Experience guests travel in an AC bus.
Afternoon: kids' zones and lunch
After lunch, spend time at Fundustan, the children's play area. Kids can play a life-size version of the Angry Birds game, watch Dadajin's live TV show and walk through Borasura, a spooky tunnel show. Toyland and the rain dance are next door. Older kids can try the free rides.
Late afternoon: Bahubali set and shows
Take the bus to the Bahubali set before the last bus leaves, usually around 4 PM. Then catch the stunt show and the dance shows at Eureka. The gardens and bird park are good for family photos.
Evening: lights and carnival
On carnival and festival days, the film city lights up in the evening and the carnival parade runs with dancers, stilt walkers and floats. Check if the parade runs on your date.
Staying overnight with family
If you want a slower trip, book a room inside the film city. Tara is the popular family hotel, Sitara is the luxury option, and Shantiniketan and Vasundhara Villa suit budget or large families. Staying lets you enjoy the evening without the drive home, and you can use the second morning for the parts you missed. See our Ramoji Film City stay packages and the night stay guide.
Getting there with family
Ramoji Film City is on the Vijayawada highway near Hayathnagar, about 25 to 30 km from central Hyderabad. With children, a pickup bus is the easiest option: you board near home, and the bus waits till the evening. Families with a car can drive via LB Nagar or the Outer Ring Road and park at the gate. City buses work too, but the return trip after dark is harder. Our guide on how to reach Ramoji Film City from Hyderabad compares every option.
