The Bangalore to Mysore, Ooty and Coonoor tour by car is a 3-day, 2-night private cab holiday that picks you up in Bangalore and brings you back there on the last night. It is a good fit for families with children and first-time visitors who want Mysore's palaces and two Nilgiri hill towns without changing vehicles.

Route and travel

The first day covers the drive to Mysore, roughly 3 hours from Bangalore, followed by Srirangapatna and Mysore sightseeing and a night in Mysore. On day 2 the cab crosses the Bandipur and Mudumalai forest belt and climbs into the Nilgiris, with stops around Pykara before check-in at Ooty. Day 3 is spent between Ooty and Coonoor, two towns about 18 km apart. From there it is a long evening drive of around 270 km back to Bangalore, and the plan shows drop-off close to midnight.

The operator's itinerary says toy train tickets are not part of the package. Book them on the tour operator as early as you can, because seats go fast in holiday months.

Reach Doddabetta early in the day. By afternoon the 2,637 m summit is often covered in mist.
Pykara boating runs only when weather and water levels allow.
