Shows Ways To Reach Ramoji Film City From Gachibowli
Gachibowli, in the IT belt of west Hyderabad, is on the opposite side of the city from Ramoji Film City. The film city is on the Vijayawada highway in the east. The quickest road link is the Outer Ring Road (ORR), and the trip is roughly 45 to 50 km, which takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. Here are the ways to make the trip by car, bus, metro or two-wheeler.
By car or cab
This is the fastest and most comfortable way, especially for a family. The usual route is:
- Join the ORR at Gachibowli or Nanakramguda.
- Drive east on the ORR, past the airport side, towards Pedda Amberpet.
- Exit at Pedda Amberpet and turn onto the Vijayawada highway (NH 65) towards Vijayawada.
- The film city gate is on the highway a few km after Hayathnagar.
The ORR has toll charges. App cabs and taxis have cost roughly Rs. 800 to Rs. 1,700 one way depending on car type, and a full-day rental car roughly Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 3,000. If you want the cab to wait and bring you back, a day rental often works out cheaper than two one-way trips.
By city bus
There is no direct city bus from Gachibowli to the film city. A two-step trip works:
- Take a TGSRTC bus from Gachibowli to L.B. Nagar or Dilsukhnagar. Routes such as 156L and 216G have been used for this.
- At L.B. Nagar, take route 205F or any bus heading towards Hayathnagar or Vijayawada that stops at the film city gate.
This is the cheapest option but can take 2 to 2.5 hours each way. See Ramoji Film City bus routes for more buses.
By metro and road
- Go to Raidurg or HITEC City metro station on the Blue Line. Both are a short cab or auto ride from Gachibowli.
- Ride the Blue Line straight to Nagole, or change at Ameerpet to the Red Line and go to L.B. Nagar.
- From L.B. Nagar or Nagole, take a cab, auto or bus to the film city, about 20 km away.
The metro avoids traffic on the inner roads. Full details are in our metro ways to reach Ramoji Film City guide and the Hyderabad Metro route map.
By two-wheeler
You can ride your own bike or rent one from a bike rental app. Two-wheelers are not allowed on the ORR, so you will need to ride through the city via Mehdipatnam, Lakdikapul or the PVNR Expressway, Malakpet and L.B. Nagar. It is a long ride in traffic, so start early and carry water.
