Get Ready For The Winter Holiday Fun and Frolic

Every winter, Ramoji Film City runs a Winter Fest, also called the Holiday Carnival. For about a month, from mid-December into January, the film city stays open late, the streets and gardens are lit up, a carnival parade runs every evening, and there are extra stage shows. The fest ends with New Year parties on 30 and 31 December and carries on into the Sankranti holidays. If you want to see Ramoji at its most festive, this is the time to go.

Winter Fest dates and timings

The dates change each year. The last Winter Fest ran from 18 December 2025 to 18 January 2026. In earlier years it started around 15 December and ran to late January. The 2026-27 dates had not been announced at the time of writing.

During the fest, the park usually opens at 9 AM and stays open till 9 PM or later, compared with 5:30 PM on normal days.

Winter Fest ticket options

Ticket Adult Child (33 to 54 inches)
Winter Fest Day Tour (Studio Tour) Rs. 1,550 + taxes Rs. 1,350 + taxes
Winter Fest Star Experience Rs. 3,099 + taxes Rs. 2,899 + taxes

These are the rates from an earlier fest. Regular prices in September 2026 are already higher (Studio Tour from Rs. 1,550 and Star Experience from Rs. 3,099 on weekdays), so expect festive prices to be at least this much. Children below 33 inches enter free.

GoldBox Holidays sells Winter Fest tickets once Ramoji opens bookings. Book on our Ramoji Film City tour page once the fest tickets open. You can add a pickup bus that waits till the evening programme ends.

What to see during the Winter Fest

The studio tour

The regular studio tour runs through the fest: a guided bus ride past film sets, live shows, stunt shows, rides, the kids' zones and the eco tour with the butterfly park, bonsai garden and bird park. The difference is the festive mood, with decorations and more events through the day.

Bahubali sets

The sets of the Mahishmati kingdom from the Bahubali films are among the most visited spots in the film city. The size of the palace and the detail in the props are worth seeing up close. Read more in our guide to the Bahubali set at Ramoji Film City.

Carnival parade

The evening parade is the highlight. Decorated floats roll down the main avenue with loud music, dancers, clowns, jugglers and stilt walkers. Find a spot along the route a little early, as it gets crowded.

Lights

After sunset, the gardens, trees and avenues are lit in bright colours. It is the best time for photos, and the cooler evening air makes walking easy.

Stage shows and special entertainment

Live acts, dance shows and themed performances run on the main stages through the evening. The line-up changes each year.

New Year's Eve at the Winter Fest

On 30 and 31 December, Ramoji hosts New Year parties at its themed venues, and in some years at the Bahubali set. There are live bands, DJs, comedy acts and dinner. See New Year party packages for details.

Stay packages for the Winter Fest

A day is not enough to enjoy the fest fully, and many visitors stay two or more nights. Ramoji has six places to stay: Sitara (luxury), Tara (comfort), Vasundhara Villa (farm house), Shantiniketan (budget), Sahara (shared rooms) and Greens Inn (budget, in a garden setting).

In past seasons, Ramoji sold multi-night winter packages under film-themed names:

  • First Cut - 2 nights: a short break with the fest attractions, leisure activities and shows.
  • Silver Screen - 3 nights: more time on the film sets and in the gardens, with festive events.
  • Cinemascope - 4 nights: adds games, sports and adventure activities at a relaxed pace.
  • Final Cut - 5 nights: the longest stay, with time for a day trip to Hyderabad city to see the forts and old city.

Hotel guests also get access to New Year parties arranged for residents in some years. Book stays early, as late December fills up fast. See Ramoji Film City stay packages.

A sample Winter Fest day

  • 9:30 AM: reach the film city and catch the morning show at the entrance plaza.
  • 10 AM to 1 PM: Movie Magic, the studio bus tour and the film sets.
  • 1 PM to 2 PM: lunch at one of the restaurants inside.
  • 2 PM to 4 PM: the Bahubali set, Fundustan for the kids and the stunt show.
  • 4 PM to 6 PM: the bird park, butterfly park and gardens, while the light is soft.
  • 6 PM onwards: lights, stage shows and the carnival parade.

Tips for the Winter Fest

  • Carry a light jacket. Evenings in late December can be cool.
  • Plan your return before the day. City buses from the film city are few after 7 PM, so a pickup bus or your own vehicle is safer.
  • Weekdays in early and mid-January are calmer than the Christmas to New Year week.
  • Stay till the parade. It is the reason to visit in winter.

For a Christmas-specific plan, see our page on the Ramoji Film City Christmas carnival.
