A single-journey ticket is valid only on the day of purchase and only for the route you paid for.

Metro timings

Trains start around 6:00 AM from the end stations on weekdays and around 7:00 AM on Sundays. The last trains leave the end stations between about 11:00 PM and 11:45 PM, depending on the line and the day. Trains come every 3 to 5 minutes at peak hours and about every 8 to 10 minutes at other times.

Before you tap in

Keep your token or QR ticket safe until you exit; you need it at the exit gate. If you lose it inside the station, you may have to pay the maximum fare. Smart card users need a minimum balance to enter.

Tips to save on fares

  • Use a smart card if you ride often; the discount adds up over a month.
  • Check for student passes and holiday offers at station counters.
  • If you only need to cross a short distance, compare the metro fare with a city bus.
  • Do not overstay inside the paid area. Long stays or exiting at a farther station can attract extra charges.
