Tirumala is the hill town above Tirupati, home of the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple, one of the most visited temples in the world. Lakhs of devotees climb or drive up the seven hills for darshan of Lord Balaji every week.

Best time to visit Tirumala

Tirumala can be visited all year. September to February is pleasant. Brahmotsavam (September or October) and weekends are very crowded.

How to reach Tirumala

The nearest railway station and airport are in Tirupati, about 22 km below. TTD and APSRTC buses run up the ghat road, and pilgrims can also walk up via Alipiri or Srivari Mettu.
