Munnar Tourist Attractions

Munnar is a hill station in the Western Ghats of Kerala, at about 1,600 m. It is known for rolling tea gardens, misty hills, waterfalls and Eravikulam National Park, home of the Nilgiri Tahr.

Top places to visit in Munnar

• Eravikulam National Park - grasslands with the Nilgiri Tahr. The park is closed for a few months around February and March for calving.
• Tea Museum - shows how tea is made, run by Tata Tea.
• Mattupetty Dam - a lake with boating, on the way to Top Station.
• Echo Point and Kundala Lake - lakes and viewpoints on the Top Station road.
• Attukal and Lakkam Waterfalls - waterfalls in the hills around Munnar.

Best time to visit Munnar

September to March is the best time. The Neelakurinji flowers bloom once in 12 years and last bloomed in 2018.

The nearest railway station is Aluva, about 110 km away, and the nearest airport is Cochin International Airport, about 110 km away. The drive from Kochi takes about four hours.
